Form Detection & Auto-Fill

How Enlistar finds forms and fills them automatically

This section explains how the Chrome extension recognizes job application fields, how AI answers are generated, and how the platform inserts those answers into the form.

How form detection works

The extension scans the page for recognized ATS patterns, including input fields, text areas, dropdowns, checkboxes, and custom components. It detects popular platforms such as Ashby, Greenhouse, Lever, LinkedIn, Indeed, and more.

When a form is detected, the extension shows the floating widget and side panel so you can review the fields and start the generation process.

Generating answers with AI

Enlistar uses your profile, resume, job description, and field labels to create contextual answers for each question. The AI generates responses that match your background and the employer's requirements.

You can preview generated answers in the side panel before filling the form, and edit any response to make it more personal or to match specific company language.

Quick job email generation

If a listing only provides a job title or minimal details, Enlistar can generate a quick application email or introductory message using your profile and the role name. This helps you apply even when the job description is brief.

Use these email drafts as a starting point for quick jobs, then adjust the wording to match the company tone.

How AI prompts are built

The system builds prompts from your profile, the job description, and the field questions on the page. This ensures the generated answer is relevant to the role, the company, and the specific question being asked.

Fields are categorized by type so the AI can adjust tone and length appropriately, whether it is a short "Yes/No" answer or a long-form response about your experience.

Using auto-fill safely

Review all generated answers before submitting. Auto-fill is designed to save time, but your final application should reflect your true experience and be accurate for the role you are applying to.

If a field requires a document upload or custom formatting that cannot be filled automatically, the extension will guide you to complete it manually.

Supported field types

  • Text inputs for names, contact details, and short answers.
  • Textareas for summaries, cover letters, and essay-style questions.
  • Dropdowns and comboboxes for location, job categories, and role types.
  • Checkboxes and radio buttons for multiple-choice and single-choice questions.
  • File upload fields for resumes and supporting documents (manual upload required).

The extension is designed to work across a variety of ATS platforms. If a form uses an unsupported custom component, the extension may still fill standard input fields while prompting you to complete any remaining unique elements manually.
